چکیده

Upcycling of nutrients from residual resources for producing microbial protein (MP) is an attractive method to valorize residues. In this study, we investigated bio-electrochemical methods recover ammonia-N, further production MP. Reject water and digestate were used ammonia-N recovery in fuel cell (MFC) system. one-stage process, was 32 – 42% with 57 154 kJ/m3 waste stream electricity generation. For enhancing efficiency, a two-stage process developed, achieving efficiency 53 61%. Subsequently, MP grown the extracted amino acid concentration 421 272 mg/L under 25 °C 35 °C, respectively. Similar essential content (especially °C) one fish demonstrated attractiveness upcycling residues proteins. Based on simplified economic evaluation, produced energy performed potential catch 1.63 6.54 €/m3 stream.

Electrochemically assisted microbial production of hydrogen from acetate.

Hydrogen production via bacterial fermentation is currently limited to a maximum of 4 moles of hydrogen per mole of glucose, and under these conditions results in a fermentation end product (acetate; 2 mol/mol glucose) that bacteria are unable to further convert to hydrogen. It is shown here that this biochemical barrier can be circumvented by generating hydrogen gas from acetate using a comple...

Microbial production of ammonium ion from nitrogen.

Genetic manipulation of nitrogenase and key glutamate-forming enzymes can provide mutants that excrete fixed N2 as NH4+. A derepressed N2 fxation mutant (SK-24) has been isolated , which excretes up to 20.2 mumol of fixed N2 as NH4+ per mg of cell protein in 24 hr at room temperature. Biochemical analysis shows that this mutant, which requires glutamate for growth, releases fixed N2 as NH4+ int...
